Over the summer the two major Mexican airlines (Mexicana and Aeromexico) either stopped or severely cut back their service to the US. The rumor is that both should resume service this month. This should both reduce ticket prices and increase flight options. Obviously no promises here but we thought that it would be good information to have when making reservations.The easiest way to get there will be to fly in to Acapulco. No need to rent a car once there. Taxis are plentiful and everything is pretty close. You can also fly into Mexico City and take a bus or rent a car. Its about 370 km driving from Mexico City to Acapulco, about 4 hours.It's a good idea to bring Mexican pesos with you from the city you're departing from, or change currency at the desk inside the baggage claim area. You may want to exchange the equivalent of $1,000 pesos.
